Lee Herold

As a senior member of the veterinary team and our previous chief medical officer, the hospital staff looks up to Lee Herold and relies on her for guidance and education. Dr. Herold began her career at DoveLewis in 2006 as a critical care specialist. From there, she transitioned to chief medical officer in 2010, where she led the specialists, staff veterinarians and other hospital team members for eight years. While she enjoyed managing the high-quality care offered by our ER and ICU, she missed working directly with the patients. In 2018, she was ready to return to her role as a critical care specialist, where she could make a difference directly with our patients and their loving owners.

Being part of a unique team

"I really like working with the people at DoveLewis. They are a diverse group and have lots of experience to bring to the table - and not just veterinary experience. I think it's cool, for instance, that one of our ICU technicians has a graduate degree in primatology, another technician ballroom dances, and one of our facilities staff is in a band."
