Our new medical center aims to simplify pet care by providing comprehensive emergency and specialty services under one roof. By eliminating the need for pet owners to navigate multiple hospitals, we ensure easier access to vital veterinary care for pets and their people.
Imagine if your dog experiences a seizure and requires ongoing neurological care, or if a veterinarian discovers a heart murmur during an emergency. Currently, in critical moments like these, pet owners often have to drive from hospital to hospital to get the emergency or specialty treatment their pets need.
But we think there is a better option.
Our new comprehensive medical center will transform care for local pets by breaking down geographic and financial barriers that limit access to emergency and specialty veterinary services. Located across the street from our current location, this new hospital space will enable us to serve more patients and expand our specialty services. As a result, animal patients will be able to seamlessly transition care from one department to the next, clients will receive care alongside their beloved animal companions, and staff will have the space, equipment, and expertise of their colleagues to treat the most critically injured and ill patients in our region. Additionally, general practice veterinarians will know they can count on the team at DoveLewis to take care of their patients and their clients when they don’t have the training or equipment to do so.
Thanks to a generous, anonymous donor who purchased the land and partnered with DoveLewis as a long-term tenant, we are one step closer to our vision of becoming a comprehensive medical center. Medical Center Features
3 Tesla MRI
The addition of a state-of-the-art 3Tesla MRI will provide our veterinary professionals with the critical diagnostic tools they need. This cutting-edge equipment is essential for diagnosing and treating complex emergencies such as spinal cord injuries, broken backs, and traumatic brain injuries. With safer, quicker, and more beneficial diagnostic capabilities, the 3Tesla MRI ensures that families receive the answers they need to make informed medical decisions.
Community Room
An 1800-square-foot community room in the new hospital is designed for DoveLewis staff to share practical knowledge and experiences with both local and national audiences. This versatile space will enable us to host regular continuing education (CE) training sessions, offered both in-person and virtually. By fostering collaboration and learning, these sessions will build confidence within the referral community and enhance patient care.
Surgery Suites
The new state-of-the-art surgery suites are an essential addition to our new hospital space. They will enhance our surgical capabilities, ensuring that we are equipped to perform complex procedures with precision and efficiency. With advanced equipment and technology, we will be equipped to address a wide range of complex medical conditions. Ensuring we can continue to deliver the utmost care and attention to each patient who comes through our doors.
Expanded Specialty Services
Extra space will allow DoveLewis to explore the addition of specialty services like oncology, physical therapy, and ophthalmology, addressing the current challenges pet owners face in obtaining appointments or accessing services due to geographical limitations or a shortage of providers.
6 Specialty Treatment Rooms
Specially outfitted treatment rooms will allow us to expand the breadth of coverage in key areas such as neurology, cardiology, internal medicine, surgery, radiology, and more. Equipped with advanced technology, these six specialized treatment rooms will attract top veterinary specialists dedicated to collaboration and community service.
An Additional 12 Exam Rooms
Expanding our exam room capacity means we can care for more patients and their families. With additional exam rooms, we can accommodate a higher volume of appointments, helping to reduce wait times on busy days and ensuring that every pet receives the timely and personalized care they deserve.
Room for Additional Specialties & Underground Parking
More space means that DoveLewis can explore adding even more specialized care options such as oncology, physical therapy, ophthalmology, and beyond.
In addition to our current parking lot, our new building will feature underground parking. This will give families one less thing to worry about when their pet visits DoveLewis for emergency or specialty care
