RECOVER CPR Training
When a veterinary patient experiences cardiopulmonary arrest, preparation and teamwork matter. RECOVER CPR training helps veterinary professionals build the knowledge, practical skills, and confidence to respond.
Evidence-Based CPR Training for Veterinary Professionals
DoveLewis offers hands-on RECOVER Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) Rescuer Workshops for veterinary professionals. Developed by veterinary specialists, RECOVER provides evidence-based CPR training endorsed by the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care and the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society.
Build the Skills and Teamwork Needed in a CPR Emergency
RECOVER BLS and ALS Rescuer certification combines required online coursework with hands-on training. After completing the online courses, participants put their knowledge into practice through realistic CPR scenarios while strengthening individual skills and team communication.
What to Expect
- Hands-On Practice: Apply veterinary CPR techniques in realistic scenarios.
- BLS and ALS Skills: Practice chest compressions, ventilation, ECG assessment, emergency drug administration, and defibrillation.
- Team-Based Training: Strengthen communication, coordination, and decision-making during an emergency.
- Continuing Education: Earn RACE-approved CE through the required online BLS and ALS courses.
- RECOVER Rescuer Certification: Successfully complete the online courses and hands-on assessments to earn RECOVER Certified BLS Rescuer® and RECOVER Certified ALS Rescuer® credentials. Certification is maintained through online recertification every two years.
How to Become RECOVER Certified
Step 1. Complete the Online Courses
Before attending a hands-on workshop, participants must complete the RECOVER Basic Life Support and Advanced Life Support online courses. Each self-paced course takes approximately three hours and provides three hours of RACE-approved continuing education credit. The courses are purchased separately through the RECOVER Academy.
The online courses are purchased separately through the RECOVER Academy and are not included with DoveLewis workshop registration.
