Skill, speed and compassion. That’s how we treat the 18,000 animals that come through our doors each year. See how our team of expert veterinarians and technicians make our emergency room and intensive care unit run smoothly, every day of the year.
Understanding the Typical Experience
Emergency visits are unexpected and frightening, but our teams work to keep each patient’s experience here as calm and comfortable as possible. What does that look like?
We work as a team.
We work to give each patient the level of attention and care we'd want our own pets to have. Our teams of board-certified specialists, veterinarians, certified technicians, assistants, and customer service representatives collaborate for the best comprehensive veterinary care you can find. Meet the teams of dedicated medical professionals who care for animals at the hospital every day.
Our specialists are always available.
We mean it when we call ourselves a team. Having board-certified specialists sharing the hospital floor with our emergency and ICU veterinarians means that our patients receive fast, expert treatments. Things that need to happen quickly, can. And cases that need a detailed diagnostics get it. We are lucky to be one of the few hospitals that has a surgeon available at all times, so we can treat urgent cases faster.
We offer round-the-clock care.
Emergencies happen at every hour, so our doors are always open. That means that our teams are actively monitoring and treating patients who have an extended stay planned or who are part of our Overnight Monitoring program for local veterinarians.
We keep veterinarians updated.
Each morning of a patient's stay, we send updates to their primary veterinary clinic. Our teams value consultations with local veterinarians and regularly partner on the treatment plans for patients.
Visitors are welcome.
There's nothing like a kind word from a loved one or a favorite toy to help a pet on their way to recovery. We work with patients' families every day to schedule 30-minute visits around treatments and rounds.
