Hospital Shuttle Service
We are pleased to offer shuttle transport from DoveLewis to your practice, and vice versa, via our Hospital Shuttle Service.
FOR STABLE PATIENTS
For your clients’ convenience, we can deliver their pet to your clinic for discharge or continued care. We can also pick up your patients from your clinic and transport them to DoveLewis for overnight care. In addition, our Shuttle Service is available to pick up and drop off for all imaging services.* If it is determined that your patient needs surgery, we can transport him or her back to your clinic or one of our board–certified surgeons can perform the surgery here at DoveLewis. Our Hospital Shuttle Service is available for medically stable patients.

Key points regarding standard shuttle service:
• Transfer service is available 7:30AM to 10:00PM Monday through Friday.
• Our fee to the client is $35.00 for a one way trip and $55.00 for round trip service.
A round trip fee will be assessed for all imaging services (e.g. base price for Outpatient
Ultrasound and transport is $360.00). We will collect all service fees from the client.
• Due to the unpredictable nature of traffic and transfer schedules, we cannot schedule an exact drop off time
• For drop offs:
o Our staff will call you to inform of a patient transfer to your clinic that morning.
• For patients being transferred for discharge only:
o DoveLewis will send with patient: discharge instructions, a copy of the case summary (for in–house use),
and any medications going home with the patient;
o You or one of your staff members will go over the DoveLewis discharge instructions with the client
and provide them a copy of the written discharge instructions when they pick up at your facility;
DoveLewis DVMs are available for any questions from your client or staff on discharge instructions
o If you charge any fees to the client for housing and care at your clinic, please include this information
below so we can inform your client up front.
o If a patient is being transferred to your clinic for continued care, DoveLewis will not send discharge
instructions or medications.
o Our van driver will call the client when they arrive at your clinic to confirm their pet is at your facility.
• For pick–up service:
o Please call us two hours before desired pick–up time to set up the referral and shuttle service.
